the canadian rockies are one of the most beautiful places that i know...the mountains are huge and have great color to offer...the fauna in the area is abundant and accessible...summer or winter, this is a place that i thoroughly enjoy..
i came upon this oddity while snow shoeing in Alberta...i needed a break and this "mushroom" offered a chance to sit and wait for the light to get right...(ok, it also offered a chance to sit and catch my breath)...
